Catla fish also known as Indian Carp, is the only member of the genus Catla, of the carp family Cyprinidae. It is a fish with a large protruding lower jaw. It is commonly found in rivers and freshwater lakes in India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Pakistan. In India it is commonly known as the Bhakur.
